I’ve just stumbled across your great video tutorials as I have finally decided to start a WordPress blog. I actually signed up with BlueHost last September and really struggled with the whole WordPress process. So much so that I ignored it and finally went over to TypePad and started my blog there.

Today, I finally decided I really need a WordPress blog too, as it is much more versatile than just having a TypePad blog and searched around for tutorials and found your site – thank goodness!

So far I have just registered my new domain and am now struggling to understand how I insert my own banner and all those annoying new little things you have to do right at the beginning (

I’d love to provide you with feedback and would appreciate your expertise to avoid going through the blood, sweat and tears bit…

Good luck with the membership site, I’ll follow your progress with great interest.

one question and that is what plugin do you use for the you tube videos.

I would just like to clarify with you that using wp for mini sites and
creating only pages rather than posts will still produce goo seo results.
Also the plugins i require are: all in one seo platinum and xml sitemap.

Hi Dave it was good to see you explain in lamens terms exactly what to do.
I had already viewed another members videos and i was getting into it when
they offered me the rest of the info i needed for $30.

I have already sorted the permalinks and that is perfect. I will install

I think your WP vids are the easiest to follwo that I’ve come across.

I was in touch some time ago seeing if we could maybe do some joint ventures – sorry I’ve not been back in touch, I’ve been putting some WP websites together for HM Forces: www.greatforcesdeals.com/colchesterarea (link from this site to the other nine sites I’ve set up). I’d still be keen to look at possible working together – I’ve got some ideas but need somebody more technical that me to develop them. I’m currently learning how to create video.

My question on the WP-YouTube vids – I don’t seem to be able to add the videos to WP pages that I’ve created – can they only be added to Posts?

Thank you. And yes it is all fixed. They were able to give me a back up of the database from a week ago and I then used that to replace my current database.

I really do appreciate your help as I would have never thought to contact tech support for my hosting company.

Hi! Thank God for your tutorials! I just signed up w rack64.com and was totally lost! in less than 10 minutes your tutorials helped me practically set me up! However it seems in setting up wordpress through fantastico I left out the www. in from of y domain name and now my site is only available if I leave out the www. Do you know where I can go to alter this? Thank you a million times for your videos I just wish my hosting company had provided me with your knowledge instead of me getting lucky enough to find you! thanks again!

Its so funny – I was so excited to have my site/blog up and registered for…and I was anxiously awaiting to start editing/previewing as I had before on a previous host and there I sat staring at the screen going around in circles and starting to think I’d gotten in over my head and maybe should try to back out and get my $$ back from rack64 but I went to google search deflated and looked up how to link host to domain and your video was PERFECT. Unfortunately my host doesn’t have live chat like the gator host you have (wish I’d known before I registered for 2 years hahaha) and within minutes I was on the right track. I am now a subscriber for sure, so thank you thank you thank you!!

It seems to work now, which is odd. Yes, I found the page order plugin and that worked for the top bar, but not for the sidebar. How d’you explain that??? Anyway, all’s sorted now – many thanks!

So was it just that this theme doesn’t support widgets? No, that can’t be right, because widgets are working now. What was the problem?

One minor thing: the pages are now listed in alphabetical order, which is fine, but I’ve tried to reorder them using the “edit pages” (attributes/order) function without success. Any ideas? Yes, I have clicked “Update”! I really want them in the order “Communications made easy”, Getting the most…”, “Services”, “Publications”, “Articles” and “Contact” because that makes most sense in terms of the “flow”.

Thanks again for your help. Honestly, if you’d told me three months ago that I could get a functioning website up and running – with some very welcome help – I’d have thought you were crazy.

I just wanted to t tell that you make excellent video tutorials and was wondering if you plan to release additional advanced tutorial that we can purchase. For example how to setup Automatic content for a Blog,  i.e. there are several out there, but which one might be the best choice and you could show how to setup and use.

As I previously said you make excellent video because of how you present the issue and the high quality of the video and sound (yes all the way here to the USA). Have you considered making a video on how to make a video (using one of you videos as an example), i.e. explain which software to use (I suspect Camtastia), hardware and other tools and tricks. If you are not inclined to make such a video, would you recommend other sources?

Excellent!!! whether you have intentionally included those minor corrections and playing with more functional keys or not is amazingly important – that brought your lesson into the real life situation of a learner. On one side, for someone who wants to have things first as smooth as possible and then at a later stage pulls their hair when they forgot them might seem confusing; but me I liked it; very interesting. My daughter has just bought an iphone but we have been unable to link mail up due to the server reference being wrong. I could go back to freeserve and get the server address but iphone support recommended gmail because it works very well on the iphone. I came across your video when doing a search and found it a useful start point. Just enough information and well presented.

Great Video!  I’ve been aware of the WordPress update for a while but have been putting off actually doing the upgrade because:
(a) I had no idea how easy or difficult it would be to do; and
(b) I wasn’t too sure what, if anything, the real benefit would be (subscribing, as I do, to the old “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” school of thought).
Your video deals with both issues and has convinced me it is worth doing.

I am impressed.
I’ve been going round in circles trying to set up an email account with my new internet provider with little success and a colleague of mine suggested I use a Google mail account.
I found your video quite by chance, watched it, and was pleasantly surprised to find how easy a process becomes when it is explained simply, in plain English and in full, without making any assumption that ‘you already know how to use it’.
I do have one question. How do I access, from Google mail, the growing train of emails that must be gathering in the account I had with my old provider?
